Hey,

I have an

AMD 2500
a7n8x-x mobo
512 mb pc2700
geforce 4 ti4800
52x lite-on burner
Win xp pro
one extra fan in the back

I have the latest direct x drivers (direct x 9b) and the latest nvidia drivers, but I'm still not getting the gaming results i think i should be getting. Can someone give me the run down on how to optimize my pc for the best gaming performance. Plus, what is the cheapest way to upgrade what i have? Thanks.

What games are you having probs with?

First thing to check are your Geforce drivers. Then your chipset drivers (Nforce 2 drivers, get them from same place as your vid drivers).

Then check your bios and make sure your cpu is rated at the speed it should be. Many people complain that they're Front Side Bus settings are wrong with these boards by default, so you might need to adjust them.

I was playing Return to Castle Wolfenstein and it is jumpy on single player (I know that shouldn't be happening), and also I was playing the Halo beta and it can only run smoothly on 800x600 with all graphics set to high. What should I do? Would buying another 512 mb of ram (which would boost me up to a gig) make a huge improvement? Thanks.

I forgot to add that I have the latest nforce drivers and direct x drivers.
