Which video Card???

I am looking to upgrade my video card from a 64 MB card to 256 so I can play games like Doom 3 & Half Life 2...

so which do you guys recommend??

9600 128
9600 256
9800 128
9800 256

the 9800 256 is fairly pricy....but the 9600 256 is not bad at all....but have heard there were problems with this card....

any advice would be greatly appreciated!

In the 9000 series go with the 9800XT (256)

dude....$350 for a new card (9800 XT) is just too much.. I just want a card that can run Doom 3 and HL 2 well....

this is the only one that will work?

IM building a new PC and ive decided to go with the 9800 PRO 256..

It seems like the best deal to me..

9800 Pro 128mb will do just fine, the 256mb is fine if you have the money but performance gains are minimal

all cards will run doom3 you can be assured of that. it is just a matter of finding the one within your pricerange. I'd suggest the 128 mb radeon 9800, it will do nicely with doom 3 and will only cost you half of a fortune

Someone was telling me earlier that you could overclock the 9800 Pro 256mb to just as good as the XT, not too sure on how true this is, but maybe somone here will know more?

You can OC a 128MB version of the Pro to just as fast as the XT, yes
