ABIT KV7-V ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail

that cpu is fine.
For ram? I suggest samsung for low price ram. They're the best for that, plus lifetime warranty, a heat-spreader, and it's PC3200 unlike the crossair you were looking at.
SAMSUNG 128MB 184-Pin RDRAM (16bit) System Memory - OEM

For HD's? maxtor's are hit-or-miss man, you either get a good one or one that craps out on ya. So for a few extra bucks for more guaranteed quality? definately get segate or WD.
Holy smokes.. check this one out man!
Western Digital Caviar 80GB 3.5" IDE Ultra ATA100 Hard Drive - OEM

now that one's 80GB! double the size for an extra ~$5? soo worth it man. The speed diff ain't that huge anywho.
btw dhw, lol, max payne, demanding??? rofl. Right. I used to play it onna 3DFX Voodoo 4 32MB PCI for crying out loud, and I could get some pretty decent visuals, and a steady framerate. Max Payne 2's a little more demanding, but I'm sure if I still had that old voodoo I'd run it.
Now, the 9000 ain't the best vidcard out there, granted, but it'll run the games you mentioned. Jedi Academy definately, Max Payne definately, might have some problems on GTA though.
