Updating My Laptop

Hey guys, I was interested in buying the new RIFT game but I know my laptop can't run it right now. Here's what my specs are currently:

laptop is a mpc transport t2400
1.7GHz
1022mb ram
windows xp
Video RAM 360.0 MB

I need to update my ram to atleast 2 gigs and my cpu to atleast 2.0GHz.

I don't wanna spend a lot of money, i'm a poor college student lol. So what do you guys think I should do? I don't want to run the game and it's best, i just want it smooth enough so i can enjoy playing it thanks for your input everyone.

actually the recommended is 4gigs of ram and a 2.2GHz processor and 512mb of video ram.

Welcome to the forum, saddly you can only upgrade your ram... Which will up your video ram too.

I'm not sure how well Rift is gonna run....

yeah, if it can't even run wow well, you have no chance at a game like this. You realize wow is nearing 7 years of age?

i'd save up money and invest in a desktop. even a budget $500 build will let you play the game on decent settings.
