well, ive got 2 computers, a crossover cable, nic cards, and i think i have the tc/ip assigned on them, i assigned my server cp's ip address as 192.168.0.1, then for my second i set it to 192.168.0.2, and all that jazz, but now when i run command, and ping the second computer, theres not response, and the cables are hooked up because, i can remote acess the other computer throught the home network thingy. i was wondering if anyone could help me!

192.168.0.1 is used as a default gateway, try changing that one to 3 intread of 1. but if u are already connewct5ed, and there is a signal, it should be fine... go in cmd, and type ipconfig on both pcs, and c what the ip is.

still didnt work, im running a ut lan game, and it isnt showing up on the other computer

yeah, poped up then went away, i used command and used ipconfig there i got these ips

uhh, are u connected to internet at same time? are both pcs connected without a router?

Thsi what u need to do
go to ur network connection
then rightclick into properties
go to tcpip config
then set ip 192.168.0.100
mask 225.225.225.0 or w/e u want...
default gateway 192.168.0.1
dns 192.168.0.1

other pc all same except put ip to 192.168.0.101

no, i take my ethernet cord out and plug my crossed cables in, not using th internet

so u just plug one side of cable to 1 pc, and other end to other pc right?
