Titan Quest problem

I got titan quest the other day, installed it, and the game itself runs decently, without much lag or low frames. i just have one problem, it lags up everything else on my computer. i'm in teamspeak trying to play with my friends and i can hear half of a word every 10 seconds or so, and i can't talk to my teammates. it also lags up xfire, in which the messages are delayed. i dont understand what's happening with this game because every other game i have runs perfectly fine and i can use other programs like teamspeak, ventrilo, and xfire. my friends also have computers similar to mine. i also tried reinstalling the game, but that hasn't done me any good. i'd love to hear any advice, thanks guys.

try closing out any other app. open. i usualy do the ctl alt delete and go to processes and delete all the owner processes if you kno what i mean? i just leave explore.exe and then for you ts and whatever. helps me for these kinds of things and my comp is slower then urs.
