i have the same problem but i succeed to join Battel.net as ''THE CHAMP'' said :

and today i tried exactly the same thing and receive the error msg :
'' Unable to validate game version. Please reconnect to battle.net or apply the current game patch ''
how can i join battel.net now without cd ...? i hope someone will help me for this ...
