STEAM on Windows-64

is there anyway to get past when it asks you to install and wont because the program files (x86) has parenthesis?

im not saying this will work but try getting steam from the net first

actually no. I Preordered it off steam. I dont have the cds, i just have to download it everytime with steam which takes forever.

ok. my bad. i have never had this problem with steam on winxp pro. but then again the windowsxp 64 is still no fully developed i stand corrected but i think i read that the latest version is a beta2. i say you should get rid of your winxp 64 if you are really desperate to use steam.
