Steam Problems

I dont know if this is steam's fault, but my internet regularly runs at about 600+kbps. When steams is on it runs about 100-500kbps. Is this steams fault, my isp's, or could it be malware.

Not steam's fault unless it's downloading a patch

and steam often downloads patches

Hold your mouse over the Steam icon in the taskbar. If it says "Working" then it's downloading something, and this is probably using some of your bandwidth.

k thx, it is downloading a patch for CS: Source and it was using over 500 kbps of my bandwith
