Starcraft help!

Hi all.... I have windows XP (recently reformatted) and when I try to install starcraft (the first one so I can install :broodwar) my computer becomes unstable/crashes. When i put in the CD the autorun wont start and when I got to my computer> Cd Rom it wont open the cd and it just keeps loading/freezes.... My cd and drive work fine... im guessing it has something to do with it being an old game. Can anyone help? Thanks

Do you recieve any errors ? Did you update starcraft?

No errors.... I did not update it because i thought I could only do that after it was installed.

Disc is probably damaged. Do other discs work fine?

Yes, it's the disc, I've had the same problem. When I used to play off-line. When you get it installed, if you play non-money, PM me and we'll game.
