Star Wars KOTOR

I'm playing KOTOR for a week now and everything was going fine untill I got on the Korriban planet. The whole computer locks up completely after about three minutes!!! I can't go forward, I'm almost done with the game I only have one star map left to find. Could anybody tell me what to do? It freezes whenever I load the game

Here are my specs:

Pentium 1400 MHz
512 Mb RAM
Radeon 7500 64 MB
Catalyst 4.7 (the latest drivers)
DirectX 9.0b
Windows XP Professional
Star Wars KOTOR ver. 1.03 (also the latest patch)

Any help would be appreciated.

ehem...yeah...better g-card might help

yeah I'm sure it would but I passed almost the whole game with this card, on medium detaills without much problems. Now I'm stuck here and can't finish the game. I even re-installed the game but it didn't help
