Sims 2 DVD Edition HELP!!!

I just bought the Sims 2 DVD Edition and some how my computer cant read it. The requirement for it is 8x DVD drive, but i got a 16x drive, so im suppose to able to read it, and i have windows xp. Help plz, and thx in advance.
