should wireless dsl cost more than regulare?

hey i just got a offer from my phone company to go wireless for 5 bucks more a month with a free modem. My question is, is that 5 bucks really paying for my internet or my free modem. should i go buy my own wireless modem. would that work or do i need theres.

by free wireless, does that mean you connect wirelessly to their system, or they just give you a wireless router? if you're paying $5 a month for a router, then its definitely not worth it. go buy your own.

They're just offering you the option to rent a crap wireless router for $5 a month. They will charge extra to set it up, too. You're better off buying a Linksys or Netgear wireless G router for less than $60 than renting their pos.

If you dont need wireless though then screw it, wired is much better for gaming.
