Runtime error in Empire Earth

I've got a dual boot system, both booting to winme (just trying to keep it simple). okay, two hard drives, i'll call them c(main) and d (games). When i boot to d drive and try to run EE i get this:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error

abnormal program termination

i only installed the minimums necessary to run games on this drive for the obvious reasons of better performance.

Now, if I boot up to c drive, then access d drive through the My Computer icon, and start EE by double clicking the EE exe, it works fine.

I guess it's not such a huge problem as i can still play the game but would rather play it when booted to d.

Anyone got any suggestions? Maybe a missing dll? Thanks.

same problem

i have close to the same problem,
except i do not have two harddrives. when i try to click on the empire earth icon on my desktop (or any other link to it ony comp for that matter) the program begins to start up then the screen turns black and the runtime error comes up on the screen please does someone have the awnser to this problem? (i use win2000 as my OS)
