Restoring deleted files...

My start.exe file was deleted by virus. I need some simple, easy to understand software to replace it. (Or anyother suggestions will be welcome.)

I need software with a diagnostic tool that will tell me for sure it will fix my deleted file. I already got burned for $40 at PCDoc or something like that for a download that did absolutely nothing.

Thanks for your help...and boy do I need it.

What kind of operating system do you have? (for example I have Windows 98se)

Do you remember what kind of virus it was?
