Somehow I think this question goes against the forums title about "the latest and greatest" in gamming but here goes:

The other day I was reading a book and somehow started thinking about an old game of mine called "Star Trek The Next Generation: A Final Unity" (herin reffered to as STTNG).

I dug the cd out of its dust pile and tried to run the install prgram but it gave me two errors when running it. During the install the game scans a system for several thi8ngs but the one tha gives me the most problems are the Files/Buffers. It says I have none. So I followed its instructions to go to the Config.sys file and set them both to 20/20. When I openned the file it showed both Fileshigh and Buffers high (and plenty of both), but no simple files and buffers. Im not quite sure what to do.

Also the install program jsut said error when reading my cd-rom speed.

Im not sure what I need to do to get this game working on my system, or if there is anyhting I can do. But I for some reason really want to and if anyone knows how then please tell me.

My system is:

VIA 1GIGA pro chipset with and integrated Smauel 2 CPU running at 666 Mhz
632 Mb's of RAM
Windows XP Home
GeForce 2 MX400 w/ 32 Mb's of Vram
Soundblaster Live! X-Gamer
32x CD-R/RW & 16x DVD-Rom combo drive

If anyone knows anyhting about this then please tell me.
