I have a problem with my new ATI AGP 3650 I cannot use the HDMI to play sounds.

To play SIMS 3 I have to use a modified 8.4 catalyst but when I use a HDMI to conect to my SONY BRAVIA it doesn't sound even when I used the ASUS drivers for the sound but it seems that nothing can solve my problem.

Thank you for your comments.

Try updating your drivers to Catalyst 9.10. I would post you a link but I don't know your OS.

If I used the last one it doesn't work with Sims 3.

It seems that there is a problem with ATI AGP cards.

Have you changed playback devices to hdmi in sound properties?

Have you tried just running the sound from your sound card or onboard sound?

Ok, I have use Catalayst 9.9 because the hotfix for 9.10 is available only since Thursday:

Catalyst AGP Hotfix - Radeon HD 4000 Radeon HD 3000 and Radeon HD 2000 Series AGP products

As you can see in this web ATI says:

This driver is provided as is and is not supported by AMD. It has not completed full AMD testing, and is only recommended for users experiencing the particular issue described above.

For the sound I used the drivers from ASUS, the last ones. You can download it from here:

ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support-

And yes I have changed playback devices to rear HDMI.

If I used my sound card it works fine but I prefer to play using the HDMI cable.
