Great screenies Vern. It is amazing at how nice that game looks, considering that it is a few years old now.

Are you using any mods?

Yep, I'm using Qarl's Texture Pack III and LOD 4096x4096 Textures and that's all (well for Aesthetic mods anyways).

These are from a neat custom map for Team Fortress 2, it's based off donkey kong obviously.

The thing I really don't like about Oblivion is the limits of the engine, you can't have HDR and AA on at the same time. It makes you pick and choose. What if I want my shiny swords and no jaggies? I guess I can't be too hard on them, Oblivion really brought HDR into the mainstream.

hmmm, imo they failed at one crucial point on the graphics side of things. The trees. Seriously, wtf? Is that the best they could do?
The rest they got bang on, but the trees look like they were drawn in with crayon as an afterthought by a drunk developer with an eyepatch on.

Those trees are only on that track. They are just two planes in a X shape and skinned. The normal trees are 3D modeled and skinned better. You can see them in these shots:

Some of the shots you guys are posting look insanely good graphic wise! I agree racing shots don't really mix with shooter shots, I might have to fire up CoD2 for the first time in a few months...

Well you can enable in CCC, but I can't make it work for some reason.. it just drops my FPS like crap, but no difference

My son still plays MotoCross Madness 2, the graphics are probly not as good as those graphics, but the game is fun, and that is all that matters.

I am slowly getting into this game more and more, despite some of its short comings...I am still having fun with it.

Holy crap that game looks good . I still have MCM2 installed, haven't played it in a long time, pretty much just keeping it installed for the track editor since I can use it to make "HD" tracks for MvA. If your son is interested, there is still a MCM2 community at MDXRACING.

Also on Vista, that game does better with DX10 mode...

I tired it in CCC but it made oblivion crash. The engine is very finicky.
