Post Your Screenshots Part II (56k, you have been warned)

X-Plane still doesn't look that good to me.

Graphically ? If so, I don't have the settings all that high. You would need SLI 580's to handle max settings at airports.

I've tried it at max settings, and it does look better, but it's no crysis. The simulation though is top notch, feels pretty epic landing such a huge plane manually when you know how realistic it is.

I'll put it up to max now for you and take a pic, i'll just endure the 5fps.

edit:

LOL! 5fps was optimistic.. got about 2 :)

Its the lighting which is most of a let down, texture and building detail can be awesome though, like here:

You can't see a whole lot but I recorded a night landing the other day. Pretty little lights everywhere though.

When you consider this is what it looks like for miles and miles, you can understand why it hammers your FPS majorly. The background looks lame though because I don't have enough VRAM, so some bits refused to load, my vram was 100% full constantly.

As a sim though I like it. I like how easy to set up the controls are, I love the instant rewind mode, i love the configurable quicktime movie capture, the absolute **** load of freeware and payware planes/landscape available, and the patches are regular and significant. A good load of bug fixes and changes every few weeks. Must of been updated 6 or 7 times since I got it.

I can only dream of this sim being in DX11 with epic visuals. Would LOVE to see major cities really accurately modelled. Because to be honest it's little more than a load of random buildings, you fly over London and you would not have the faintest idea, just looks like a mass of houses. Though I think i'm epecting a little ahead of the time, you'd need about 32gigs of VRAM.. the only other flight sim i've seen with great visuals that tried to do a half decent effort of modelling major cities is IL2: Cliffs of Dover, and suffice to say it bought my system and systems much better than mine to it's knees. It's totally unplayable at anything even approaching high settings.
