pixel shader 1.1

i was trying to play the thief 3 demo and it said i didnt have pixel shader 1.1, and i found that a lot of people r having this problem with another game, deux 2 i think, is there anyway to get a round that, liek turn pixelshader off? btw i have a geforce 2 mx and i have dx9b.

I'm pretty sure its required on most new games.
