i just got the game and im currently at the part where i have to escort martin to some place to keep him safe. i forgot the name.. but this came right after closing the 1st oblivion gate. i am currently in the Priory. my question is... if i tell martin to wait here.. can i go on and do other stuff and then come back to complete this later. i just wanna know how the quest system works. do i have have to complete quests right away or can i wait as long as i want, for example not bring martin where he needs to go.. instead do side quests for a while or something

Sure, you can tell him to wait and come back at any time and do the main quest. That's part of the beauty in this game, it's very open-ended. Do what you want, when you want. Good luck.

ok so i can hold off on the main quest at any time? thats good to know... now what else is there to do? where can i find other quests and stuff?

Everywhere. And there's a lot to do. Do whatever you want to. Side quests, dungeon crawling, exploring, raising skills, whatever.

im not sure if your familiar with world of warcraft.. but in that game you can find townsfolk, guards, random people, etc, who can give you quests to help them out.. is it kinda like that? i read the intro to the gamespot guide and it shows only 3 or 4 quest categories : Main quest, guild quests, and daedra (spelling?) quests, can you do quests other than these? like quests that arent to get into a guild, or the main quest

I quit WoW due to having to move and losing my DSL connection late July 2005, and had 90 days played... what's WoW?

But no, you have to actually talk to people to find out if they have a quest for you. It's not as simple as WoW's quest design.

ok i gotcha but are there many people who have quests for you, other than the main quest and the guilds? or is that it? just trying to get an idea of how many quests are available

dude.......supposedly to beat every last single thing in this game it takes like 200-300+ hours to do. That right there should give you a good idea of how much crap there is to do in this game. Some quests are just run to the town and kill a dude, some are long and complex.
