Nvidia GeForce FX5500 play HL2 ?

hi , will the Nvidia GeForce FX5500 play Half Life 2 i dont want to spend out to much on High End graphics cards like a 6800 and that but will a Nvidia GeForce FX5500 AGP 8x be better than my Nvidia GeForce FX5200 at playing Half life 2..i can play HL2 on my FX5200 with a steady frame rate but sometimes it just jerks and goes slow a little bit... will the FX5500 be better then ?? or if you think of a better card i would like it to be priced between £39 to atleast £70.. thanks....

umm dont know wat kinda money that is... ur using.. hehe but i would not upgrade from a 5200 to a 5500 atleast get a gefroce 5900 or a 5700 gefroce if u in a small price range

no Fx5500 won't run that but an xfx 6600 256mb will definately cause I can max out everything and it still runs smooth!!!

Get a 6600 if you're on a tight budget. I've got one and it plays HL2 no problems. You can pick them up now for less than a £100.

and a Celeron processor? yikes. i'd get at least the 6800.

umm.. yea u can run hl2 with a fx5500, i ran it on my fx5200 and med-high setting at 800*600, but i max it out and 1280*1024 wit my 6800 Vanilla

( XFX 6600 256MB and the GeForce 5900 and GeForce 5700 ill see how they do )

yea go for a 6600/GT or 6800 and that celeron should be fine for half life 2.

ok thanks for that i might look into the BFG series is that good because you get a lifetime warranty with them aswell
