No DirectX 9 in BF3

In the wake of EA's awe-inspiring presentation of Battlefield 3 today at their press conference, they've revealed the game's system requirements. Take a gander.

Minimum System Requirements
OS: Windows Vista or Windows 7
Processor: Core 2 Duo @ 2.0GHz
RAM: 2GB
Graphic card: DirectX 10 or 11 compatible Nvidia or AMD ATI card.
Graphics card memory: 512 MB
Hard drive: 15 GB for disc version or 10 GB for digital version

Recommended System Requirements
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Processor: Quad-core Intel or AMD CPU
RAM: 4GB
Graphics card: DirectX 11 Nvidia or AMD ATI card, GeForce GTX 460, Radeon Radeon HD 6850
Graphics card memory: 1 GB
Hard drive: 15 GB for disc version or 10 GB for digital version

That's not too bad for a game that looks as good as BF3 does. Seriously, I'd have expected higher requirements, but that's Frostbite 2 for you. Rockin'.

Those are some beastly reqs though. I only just barely meet the recommended; scared to see what the optimum specs will be.

Well I'm not a huge gamer and my system I guess is getting dated LOL I'm still running a 9550 quad 775 with a GTX 285 so I can't even use DX 10..... Guess at least a new video card is in order, **** this one cost $365 when I got it. HMMMM how to get some money together LOL Trying to buy a house so maybe I can sneak it into my mortgage LOL
