Next Gen Processors?

I am looking at buyiing a laptop finally, and was wondering if there are any plans for AMD or Intel to release new processors say like a P5 or something like that. I know AMD has the 64-bit processing already which is new . It's also expensive for just home use and I do all my gaming on my desktop.

Any help or news link are appreciated.

amd is releasing new processors between september and october, and intel has just released a bag load of processors.

oh yea, no plans for p5 as yet, they are upgrading little things like cache and the design for optimum performance. the latest is the p4 extreme edition.
