Need For speed Hot pursuit 2 problem

Hi i have a problem that i am hoping someone can help with. I have a Compaq Persario Specs:
AMD Althon XP
2.16 Ghz
704 MB Ram
64 MB Video Memory
160 GB Hard Drive
DVD Burner
DSL connection


And the system Requirements are:

16 MB of video Memory
128 MB Ram
2.1 GB of hard drive space
400 MhZ Proccesor speed.

The Recommended Requirments are:

800 MHZ
256 MB of ram
32 MB of Video Memory

When ever i play the game, It ether lags or skips really badly. and the graphics settings are set on bare minimum. can somebody tell me what i have to download or configure in order to make the game run better.

What OS are you using? I had the very same problem a while back whilst using Windows 2000 Pro.

I would have thought you would be on XP with specs like that but if you could let everyone know it might be of some help.

have you got service pack 2 ??

make sure you have all the updates from windows

Need For speed Hot pursuit 2 will still be skippy even if u have geforce 7800gtx because the problem is with the game not with the gpu, just put default setting and play it like that.

Need For speed Hot pursuit 2 detect the best setting for u automatically and it is the default setting
