Need for speed Carbon problems

I just bought Need for speed Carbon and I cannot get it to install. The abnormality is the EULA text field comes up blank. I go ahead and press okay and then a window pops up and says I need to install DirectX 0. ??? My gfx card is good enough to run the game and I have DX9. I am not sure what the prolem is.
