Need help installing JRE 64 bit on windows 8

I'm trying to install 64 bit java to be able to run far distance and max fps in Minecraft.

I have a ASUS laptop with Windows 8 core i5 6 GB RAM not sure if windows in pro or basic but definitely 64 bit processor.

Can anyone help me with this?

Are you getting an error trying to install Java? Do you already have any version(s) installed? Check Programs & Features and see if you have any multiples installed.

I have made some advancements and think I got it all fixed.

IE 10 has JAVA 32 bit version 7 update21
Chrome the same
I was able to download Firefox 64bit and with that download the 64 bit version of java and now minecraft does detect that version.
Only one doubt remains, will this affect my browsing in any way or is it safe to have both the versions for different browsers?
