Hi please help me out here. Recently I formatted my computer and replaced Win2k with WinXP PRO, due to virus/spyware/gaming issues.

I thought that it might solve my problems, but seems I was wrong..

I have tried playing several games such as
Need For Speed Underground 2, Prince Of Persia 2 : Warrior within, and Football Manager 2005.

And no matter what game I play, after a little while my screen either turns blue (and all I can do is reset), or I get this message :

"The game ended unexpectedly. Please see Readme.txt for technical support."

I have no idea what usually causes these problems, so I really hope that you can help me..

First thing I'd do is start swapping out your hardware if at all possible. Change your video card out first (even with something crappy), then run the games.. then go to your mobo, then ram, etc.. With such a problem it's really hard to tell, I think this would be your best bet right now.

Since SP2 is installed, DX9c is already installed and his drivers for his video are already the newest...

Hi

Thanks for replying so fast!

I took a look at my magic health on startup, and wrote down the results :

CPU fan = 2596 RPM
Power fan = 0 RPM
Chassis fan = 0 RPM

CPU TEMP = 60°
System TEMP = 42°
Vcore = 1.66V

Vdimm = 2.57V
+5V = 4.73V
+12V = 12.09V

Vdd = 1.56V
Vbat = 3.07V
5vsb = 4.92V

Maybe the hot cpu is causing this problem..

I am not able to swap my hardware, cause I don´t have any other than this, not even old stuff.. I sold my old computer with all my reserve parts..... BUMMER

hmm ok, well it's not your cpu temp, 60's high but, not super high.. system temp is really high though, my mobo never gets hotter than 31C, so there's a big difference there, but iono if that's what's doing it.. it's really hard to tell since you're not able to switch out hardware.. I'm sure someone will be able to help you if you post this or at least a link to this thread (don't double post) in hardware or something.

i had the same problem very recently.

turns out i had completely forgotten to install the AGP 3.0 drivers for

the mobo.

i had only installed the video card driver of the actual card.

2 seperate drivers that require you to play games and have a

stable system.

i kept crashing and rebooting 5 minutes into any game.

so make sure you've installed BOTH drivers, i doubt it's a virus, you

just reformatted it too.

after i did, it hasn't crash yet.

and also, just to mention i also, have a 9800Pro.

use the new Catalyst 4.12 video drivers from the site instead of the

one that came w/ the computer or vid-card. my driver that came the

card couldn't play ANY game at all, so just use the 4.12's.
