Trying multi-player for the first time and I can't hear anyone speaking. I have a pair of turtle beach z22's. I have it enabled on steam and the correct set up on the PC but no voices on BF3, transformers or COD ghosts. Do people not use headsets much?

Nope, when I play games with friends I just use Teamspeak.

Well in COD as far as i know (haven't really played any cod since mw2) there is voice communication. Usually 12 year olds screaming and ****. So maybe just check the in game settings.
