mounting game image file in win95 mode?

I'm running WinXP Pro / SP2
I have Resident Evil for PC
It has three files: RE1.ccd RE1.sub RE1.IMG

I've tried mounting the image with Daemon Tools Virtual Drive, but I get a message that says "This game would be able to run only when windows95." I can only assume it's trying to tell me I need to run this in win95 mode.

So I was wondering if there is anyway I could run an .img file in win95 mode?

umm no you cant mount in 95 but you might be able to run the install exe with compatibility mode, mount disc go to my computer find the mounted disc right click, open go to the install exe and right click, properties, compatibility tab click use compatibility then go to win 95 click ok then run it that might help

I was wondering how to dissect an IMG file into all of its individual files.
It never downed on me to go about doing it this way.

Well, I installed the game, configured the options and got it to play.
