Hey people,

I am in the market for a new monitor.

I dont know a whole lot about them.

I usually run at 1280 x 1024

I play CS:S, Mxo, and other fps games mostly.

I do mild video editing via premiere pro and some image stuff now an again too.

Gaming is gonna be the biggest determining factor here because of the shadowing and response time.

I am partial to lcd because it takes up so much less space than a crt, but i am more than willing to live with a deep monitor for better gaming performance, and that seems to be the good word so far.

Any suggestions or advice would be awesome.

I have set a budget for my self of $400, give or take, but would obviously be happy by getting away with paying less..heh.

Thanks
Joel

If ur a clarity purist and can notice like the smallest amount of loss of detail or lag or whatever either buy a top of the range LCD, or just sitck to CRT. If your not really that obsessed buy an LCD, but make sure it has good warrenty cos if u get dead pixels u gonna want it replaced.

My main advice is really do your homework and read lots and lots of reviews.

If you are thinking about buying a monitoe for games, make sure it is 12ms or below.

nah, 16ms is fine for games... the human eye cant notice the diff between 16 n 12... I'd reccomend an LCD, but b4 u buy it post here n let us check it to make sure u dont get a bung one
