Monitor screwed

Hey everyone, I have a bit of a problem. I tried to bump my monitor's refresh rate up a notch, to 100hz. , but the screen went black, and the power button blinked on and off. I know the monitor isn't blown, cause I hooked it up to another system set with a lower refresh rate. I tried going in safe mode to un-do the changes, but the control panel for my 9800pro isn't available in safe mode. I really don't want to use system restore, because I just updated my graphics and sound drivers, and the most recent restore point is befor the updates. Anybody have any ideas? you turned up the refresh rate, ouch your monitor didnt like that. I am suprised the monitor even tried it, normally the monitor will not even attempt a refresh rate outside normal zones. Change the monitor connector ( DB-15 or DVI ) and see what happens.
