Lord of the Rings Online: DX10 Patch
Turbine released a new DirectX 10 client for The Lord of the Rings Online so we took the newly DX10-enabled title around the block a few times to see how it performed. Those of you hoping for results that show superior DX10 performance might be disappointed. I believe the term “turd in the punchbowl†was actually used in this evaluation.

We were genuinely shocked to see how poor performance was when we ran The Lord of the Rings Online in DirectX 10 mode. We saw a 55% to 66% framerate decrease across the board. That simple fact would not have been so bad if it had not rendered our configurations unplayable. But it did.
