Everytime I play a console game online (snes, gens, etc) I get lag spikes. This happens on both Zbattle and Kaillera servers Like every 25 seconds or so the game will freeze then continue on smoothly.
It's even worse in Kaillera (not surprising).
This even happens to me in four player games and I am sure that I can fix it I just need to know if there are any options for this kind of problem somewhere in my modem-router.
I don't know what I should be looking for.
Um. I've got a Netopia Cayman 3346 Modem with a built in Router. I am using Windows XP with Service Pack 1.
I purify my PC daily of spyware, adware, trojans, worms, unknown / unwanted running processes so I know that's not the case.
I've got a 1.5MB connection (128K upload / 8 - 12 kbps) and usually get anywhere from 25 - 250 kbps downloads (70 average).
I'm using a Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet
NIC card.
I don't have a big name ISP just a regular one and I live 15 miles from the city.
I hope that's enough info.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
