Internet Game Problem

ok this was the best site i could find to ask so here it goes.

Ok im trying to play this game Rakion but when i try to join a room the game tells me that "my connection compared to another in the room is to slow." but i have a 1.5mbs internet speed.
i have opened the port for the game on my modem but nothing seems to be working.

Also my ping is 999 and i tihnk thats is the problem but i cant fix it any ideas?

any help would be good.

i'm personally very against free online runescape, ragnarock etc type games, but anyway, ur prob using some random country's server, try find a server close to wherever you live coz even with fast net if u try download from like the other side of the world its gonna be slow.

Yea. thats the problem even with australian servers playing world of warcrraft. The actual server is based in america so we get pretty bad lat at times
