I just want to play css

Hello, I have a question! I just want to play css and i plan on building a pc for myself within the week. I have about 500 to spend with the monitor, and I was just looking for input on the video card. I was looking at this card PNY GeForce 8800 GT 512Mb but i cant seem to find it. What is out now that is similar in price and performance?

The 9800gt is basically the exact same card. Or you can go with the ati 4830 which is suppose to be slightly faster.

the 9800gt will be a fine choice, i dont know much about the hd4830, all i know is i am using sli 8800gts passed 9800gtx speeds, once again basicaly the same cards. and i am at the fps cap of 270 constant.

yea i get 262fps average at 1280x1024, and max everything.

I am running sli 8800gts 640mb (old gen) and I cream through counterstrike the even with 32xAA everything is perfect at 1920x1200 so pretty much any modern card will do you.

That should bring my build to 286.94 without the video card and monitor. I could spend 100 bucks for the 9600gt with 512, or i could get the 9800gt with 1gig. Ill just buy a cheap monitor and there i have a super cheap pc to play css and maybe even some other games.

If anyone has some suggestions on how to make it better while still maintaining the low price that would be great too.

Hmmm... the 4830 runs around $120, and has $20-$30 rebates. Maybe Santa Claus will be nice to me this year if I don't boobytrap the chimney again.
