Don't get me wrong, I love TF2, it's just much less convenient for when I just want to get on for one match to blow some steam. It's more intensive and tends to suck you into game after game (which is partially the tactics, but partially just that the matches are so short)
With BF2142 (if it would WORK!) I can just get on, find a good sniping position, kick back with my Zeller, a couple of beers and some good music, and pwn any SOB unlucky enough to fall in my crosshairs. It's relaxing.
EDIT: and it's not so much my computer as a combination of bad luck and buggy EA software.
