HL2 Freeze

Single player HL2 freezes on my friends comp.

win98
omega ATI Radeon 9600pro drivers
Generic 5.1 Surround sound card (freezes with or without this turned on in game)
xp2800+
512 ddr3200

no error, just froze/restarted comp

Yeah, Has it allways happend or is this something recent?

i didnt have the problem with XP so i figured it was a driver problem, but the drivers seem fine... i dont know maybe HL2 doesnt like 98
