Help reinstalling windows XP :(

I could reinstall windows XP fine and reformat my HD
on my old computer easily








but on my new dell 8400


wen i turn on the comp hit f12 it bring me to the B00T menu

now in the dell users manual

it says to select the CD-ROM from the boot menu

then it should continue


but wen i hit enter on the CD-ROM


it says "Cannot boot the device,press f1 to try again,or f2 for setup"

this is getting anoying i realy want to reformat my comp

for Rome:total war coming out this friday



please try and help

have you tried just setting boot to A:/ and then loading up the six startup disks you can make from windows website? for reinstalling windows from non optical boot.
