Help all games crash

Swap'em or buy a new ram stick ok.

right um, il swap them first, but uh

what if i buy a new ram stick, and the problem comes back?

Swap them to see if it was the ram stick before you do anything.

If it does work, then you may have a dead RAM socket.

If it doesnt, that is actually a good thing.

Ok, swapped them before, and ran dod. which crashed within 5 seconds.

so im not sure if i should test the "faulty" stick by itself?

and if it DID work what would you say is going wrong...
i mean cause i could go and buy a new stick...but hte problem may well persist

Okay, take the sticks of RAM, and plug them one at a time into slot one on your mobo. If DOD crashes with one of the sticks, you know that stick is bad. If it doesnt, then RAM slot 2 is probably bad on your motherboard.

fixed, i grabbed a 256mb stick from my bro's comp and put the "defective" stick in his,

it works fine in his comp

and so far i have experienced NO crashes in ANY GAME,

im still going to buy more RAM however...768 doesnt quite cut it for me

BTW, get a brand like Corsair or Kingston or something that is reputable. Don't get bargain bin RAM, it's usually garbage and fries quickly and overclocks terribly.
