Headset Volume Problem BF2

I have a new Labtec headset with no volume control on it. I want to turn down the headset speaker volume but can't. I've checked in BF2 sound settings, in all my sound driver options (realtek) and windows volume control. The headest is plugged in the front of my computer via 2 stereo connections....I dont want to have to turn down the master volume to achieve a lower level sound...any help aprreciated.

I know when you first install BF2 it does the preparations to appropriately set your mic, but I was just in the sound options the other day and I coulda sworn there was an adjustment for mic level in there =/

Ya there are adjustments, but its not taking any affect on my volume level...
