Never experienced the problem. It's total WOMM

Anyway, most of the scripted elevator scenes wait till you enter the elevator before anything happens, as a way of making sure you're in the elevator.

The problem with HL2's AI is that it is way too scripted.

Doom 3's AI was just plain DUMB.

HL2's AI destroys Doom 3's AI. But Far Cry's AI destroys HL2's AI.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R's AI looks the MOST promising. It's quite mind blowing...totally unscripted self reacting AI. But then again that is what everybody said about HL2's AI after E3.
