Guild Wars predicament

I fing myself sitting here waiting for Guild Wars to connect to ArenaNet in vain. It's been at 0% for about 4-5 hours and I give up. What the hell is goin on?

Server is probably down... just give it time, should be back up soon.

If it's not back up here in an hour or so, either you've got major problems on your end, or they're having server stability issues (possibly because of the amount of traffic on the server).

Well I don't have a router, and Norton just told me it's trying to access the internet, so I allowed it.

Guild wars just managed to download something from ArenaNet, then it started to try and connect again, and my firewall asked again, and yet again I permitted it. Nothing.

If you can find out which ports GW or Arena uses, you can enable all the ports that it needs.

That's the problem, finding which ports it uses.

I'm not sure, I got mine to work perfect when I bought it.
