Far Cry 2: Performance analysis
All-clear: You don't need a high-end PC to run Far Cry 2 at playable framerates - even the "Ultra High” Settings are far from the brutal system requirements Crysis imposes. Even with a Core 2 Duo E6600 or an Athlon 64 X2 6000+ and a Geforce 9800 GT/8800 GT or a Radeon HD 4850 you can play the highest settings.

That puts a big smile on my face :)

Here's the article > PCGH - Test/Benchmark: Far Cry 2: GPU and CPU benchmarks

Particularly glad to see that the game isnt nVidia optimised. With many games the GTX260 performing aswell as or better than the 4870, this game its not the case. not anyway near :D

One thing the article doesn't really touch on is RAM requirements, As it's a massive open world with nice texture's, I'm thinking this game will want above 2GB. Especially on Vista 64Bit.

Sweetness, the game looks awsome. Definitely picking this one up, and better not have aliens involved.

Saw developer interview, where he said they are trying to make the game as real as possible. He said there are no aliens or tridens or whatever they are called

Nope, there is nothing that would be out of the usuall in rural Africa (Untill the mods arrive from the awesome PC mod community :D)

real as possible? shooting an ammo crate and making the bullets fly around randomly is far from realistic :|

anyway, this is a relative thing..........."playable" frame rates to them could be 10fps. but to most gamers they would want 30-40+
