good modern RTS

i have kinda gotten over FPS and i want to try some RTS games. i am looking for some good RTSs set not before WW2. I have Blitzkrieg, Sudden Strike (both) and the C&C games.

if others could be suggested that would be very helpful. thankyou.

You mean they have to be during or after WWII? If thats so, then try Warhammer 40K series. Its got nothing to do with WWII altogether. Also the Homeworld series, which are a little old, but are still great games. And this is waaaaay before WWII, but Rome: Total War is a great game.

squad based still RTS ..... Full Spectrum Warrior! i personally love that game!


command and conquer: generals is a good RTS aswell.

Age of Empires series. The third one came out and it's a great game, also beautiful

I'll add Dragonshard, D&D styled RTS, recent game. Warlords battlecry (2 or 3), older midevil type game. War of the rings, midevil based on lord of the rings.

Yea my brother got War of the Ring and it's alright. I'd take AOE 3 over it anytime.

I like the Earth and Age of Empires series. I think one of the best RTS games ever made was C&C Red Alert. Other than that i havent played too many RTS lately.....
