I have looked all around the web to find some sort of guide to set up GlQuake World and I ended up with nothing. I am trying to find a way to set up GlQuake on my system without crashing.

Yes I do have Quake installed and yes i put the patch in the Quake folder.

When I run GlQuake World it says i am missing glide2x.dll. I found it on google and put it in my windows/system32 directory. Then I run it and it says this error message:

genport I/O initalization failure
then it says

grSstselect: non-existent SST
then it says

wglCreateConnect failed

I would use another open GL QuakeWorld but this is the only one supported by GameSpy.

Does anybody have an idea on what is going on?

Success!

I found a way to get any Quake I client to work with opengl.

Go to C:\Windows\System32 and copy your opengl32.dll into your Quake folder. Make sure you overwrite the previous opengl32.dll. You may want to copy it to someplace easy to get to as well for a backup and you don't want to go to /system32

Every time you install something new to Quake I make sure to copy the opengl32.dll from C:\Windows\System32.

If you want a good setup guide then here is one:
http://www.quaketerminus.com/exe.htm
But make sure you do the opengl32.exe.
