i just use a $10 pad from staples, i don't know why u would spend like 30 bucks on a mouse pad, sure u might get better glide but is it really worth it. anyway, my g5 glides nice over my cheap pad.
i feel there is a similar argument with a keyboard.
i thought my old $5 mousepad that had taz & bugs bunny worked fine my mouse seemed to glide fine over it. but i decided one time i'd splurge a little and see what a gaming pad would do and it turned out my old pad was nothing compared to my new xtrac pad, they were two different worlds. im sure that a steelpad or some of those other more expensive ones are probably a little better than mine. its all about personal preference and whether or not you want to spend the extra money on it, no one is telling anyone you HAVE to buy one or it is a necessity.
