CS wasn't very tactical, it was just a stop and shot game. But I know what you mean...I'm really surprised that COD4 and Halo3 have caught on so extremely.

well in pubs it isn't because theres usually a high difference in skill levels. In high level league play however it becomes very tactical since everyones individual skill is roughly around the same area, and therefore team tactics need to be more utilized to have an advantage.

COD4 is the most accessible game ever, the game basically has no recoil, and has the newbie friendly hardcore mode. Casual players just love being able to get kills with little effort...a sad day in gaming...although I respect the normal mode and had fun with some league play while it lasted.
