Well, think this is all down to a doom3 install, i have a fairplay nice system, runs what i like fine, played games with lovely graphics and no locks or issues etc, until now.
Installed doom3 yesterday, accidently clicked on install directx 9.0b, already have 9.0c installed, the machine would randomly reboot during gameplay, suddenly black screen, next thing i'd see is the bios, trouble being it'd never make it back into windows, after the windows boot screen it'd hit black and see bios again, booted into safe mode and then restarted and got into xp no issues at all.
But now it does it in other games as well, hitman, nfs etc. So i updated the dx back to 9.0c via microsoft and it still does it, machine has no viri, no adware, fully updated via microsoft due to it all being legit, so i dunno!
Its v uncool though.
My specs:
xp1700
asus mobo (fresh bios)
512megs pc 2700
80gb hdd
2 40gb hdds
win xp home sp2 fully updated
any ideas guys? i really need a hand with this one! All thoughts appreciated!
