Free online multiplayer fighting games?

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone knows of a good free online fighting game? I've been trying to play Street Fighter Online since I loved Xmen vs Street Fighter back in the day but it is just waaayyyyyy to laggy for me. I have also looked into Mugen but I hear mixed things about playing it online and it seems like it requires giving full access to your computer and is also laggy (is that true?). So are there any good free online multiplayer fighters?

Seriously, I do remember that there is a Free MMO all you are doing is fighting other players like Street Fighter. Name has left me. I was playing it about 2 years ago.
